Personal Coach; will support you with very specific lifestyle needs, such as dealing with particular relationship

Personal

What is the difference between Life-Coaching and Personal Coaching?

A life coach helps you develop all aspects of your life, including your career and your hobbies and maybe even in overcoming physical difficulties. This support is not the same as that which could be provided by a psychotherapist. They will support you with very specific lifestyle needs, such as developing friendships and dealing with particular relationship or sexual problems.

Both types of coach will use mentoring and target-setting as their means of helping you develop and achieve your goals. Is the purpose of the Personal Coach to simply listen to my problems?

The personal coach is there to help you understand your challenges and to help you establish and focus on achieving your end goal.

They will advise and support you, should you experience unforeseen setbacks, but remember all coaches are there to guide and help you achieve your own success!

How will my coach help me deal with my problems from the past?

If your current situation is a direct result of a specific or significant event you can pin-point as having happened in your past, your coach may well encourage you primarily to consult your GP about the issue.

Your doctor will then be able to refer you to the most appropriate and effective form of therapy that is available to you. When you have addressed your past issues, your personal coach may then be able to help you look toward achieving your goals in the future.

Will my Personal Coach only coach me?

This will depend on the individual coach. In the interests of providing the best possible support to my clients, I try never to work with more than five clients at any given time. Of course, even within these limits, my client numbers depend on how much support each individual requires.

Generally speaking however, with the monitoring methods I use, I am usually able to keep all my clients well on-track.

What is the background of most coaches? A life-coach or a personal-coach could come from any professional background. These may be as diverse as accounting, nursing, or the armed services. I personally have worked for many years in the corporate customer service field and I have also had many years of experience in the spiritual field, with my work as a medium. I feel both of these backgrounds have helped me enormously in my current role of supporting and developing the potential in my clients.
